Transcription Factors

Cell adaptive response to environmental variations includes modulation of gene expression, a process highly dependent on the binding of transcription factors to consensus sequences localized  in gene promoters. The knowledge on transcription factors is developped from several techniques like DNA-binding assays, reporter gene expression, CHIp, … We have already developed a colorimetric DNA-binding assay for several transcription factors (commercial  name : TransAM TM), and our current aim is to develop a new tool to identify  without a priori the proteins that bind directly (transcription factors) and/or indirectly (coactivators/corepressors) to a promoter sequence produced by PCR.
