Mito
Molecular communication between the impaired organelle activity and the nucleus
Numerous pathologies are resulting from alterations in organelle
activity and/or function. Indeed, organelles such as mitochondria,
lysosomes and endoplasmic reticulum are interconnected and communicate
at the molecular level to keep the nucleus informed about their
activity/function status level. Retrograde communication is defined as
the signalling pathways that are activated in response to organelle
dysfunction. The aim of our research is to study cell response
(signalling and gene expression) to organelle dysfunction in several
models dealing with mitochondrial and lysosomal alterations.
