PHD thesis

Is there a way to coordinate priorities of lowland and upland marginalized communities in Southern Philippines ?

Duration

2004-2010

Keywords

GIS,lowlands-uplands,land use management, migration

Description

The research would take place in Agusan del Sur (Mindanao, Philippines). The first step will be to identify the land use managements in lowlands and uplands, which know several pressures (migration, deforestation, etc.). Next; in a GIS, the cross-over of these ones with local priorities ' identified by participative methods ' will allow to evaluate the effectiveness of such managements. This approach will contribute to the elaboration of a Sustainable Comprehensive Land Use Planning (S-CLUP).
