Each year, about a hundred students begin a doctorate at FUNDP. A doctorate is a training towards and through research. It also constitutes a first professional experience. Therefore, a Ph.D. student has a dual status : student and young researcher.

Doctorates at FUNDP

In order to complete a Ph.D., it is necessary to find a promoter who will supervise the work.

A Ph.D. regulation, common to all four universities of the Louvain academy, was agreed upon. It defines the general framework within which a Ph.D. program must take place in order to be recognized both within and outside the academy.

How to finance a doctorate?

There are several ways to finance a Ph.D. In addition to programs specifically dedicated to the completion of a doctorate, several non-specific financing tools can be used, in whole or in part, to finance a graduate program.
