Best Paper Award at the 17th edition of the annual International IEEE Requirements Engineering (RE) conference
We are proud to announce that two members of PReCISE received the Best Paper Award at the 17th edition of the annual International IEEE Requirements Engineering (RE) conference (also known as RE'09) which was held in Atlanta in early September.
Based on a set
of evidence-based principles synthesised from a wide range of
disciplines, including linguistics, cognitive psychology and
cartography, the authors pointed out some serious flaws
in i*, a popular RE visual notation. But the goal of the
paper was to be constructive rather than destructive. Therefore, it
also made several recommendations to improve i*. A
broader ambition of the paper was to raise the level of debate and
stimulate discussion about visual representation in RE research. The
response of the audience was enthusiastic and confirmed that such a
study was long overdue.
The RE conference
series is known for its high scientific standards and very
selective paper evaluation process. Additionally, this is the second
year in a row that PReCISE researchers are granted the best paper award
at RE (it went to I. Jureta and S. Faulkner last year), thereby
demonstrating the excellence of our research center in this exciting
and challenging discipline.
