The aim of this Research Centre is the study of Roman urban centres in central Italy. The Centre gathered scholars from several universities of the Communauté française de Belgique.
Archaeological excavations are conducted in the Roman town of Ostia (Italy). The study of the remains and archaeological material brought to light during these excavations constitutes the main activity of the Research Centre at present.
