Advanced Master in International and Development Economics
The Economic Departments at the University of Namur (FUNDP) and at the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL) organize jointly a one-year post graduate program in International and Development Economics within the framework of the Economics School of Louvain (ESL).
Program graduates will obtain an Advanced Master’s Degree in International and Development Economics.
The master program has successfully been in existence for more than 15 years. Professorship includes academics with a well established international reputation and an extensive field experience in developing countries.
Description
The objective of the program is to train students in international and development economics and help them to become qualified actors in the field of economic development in the context of an integrated world economy.
The courses taught are structured around two main themes: macroeconomic policies and economic development including its institutional aspects.
The language of instruction is English.
Application requirements
Applicants must have either:
- A university graduate degree obtained after 5 years of university education
- A university graduate degree obtained after 4 years of university education and 2 years at least of professional experience.
Only applicants with a strong background in economics will be considered.
Planning
The program is a one-year program of 60 credits.
The courses and seminars are given mainly in Namur. Once a week, classes take place in Louvain-La-Neuve.
Scholarships
The program enjoys the support of the "Committee for University Cooperation for Development (C.U.D.)" and receives financial backing from the Belgian Government. It is possible to obtain scholarships for the program from the C.U.D. and the Belgian Cooperation (C.T.B.).
